MTW Diversity Committee Mission
The mission of the Diversity Committee is to explore, understand and promote diversity in all its forms within our school community through events and conversations with students, families, and staff.
“It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity, there is beauty, and there is strength.”
- Maya Angelou
“Diversity Committee is one of the places where the MTW community truly shines. We can discuss opposing opinions on sometimes very difficult topics, making sure everyone is heard”
- Kay Loua, Principal of Midtown West School

Meet the World of our Diversity ("MTW means Diversity!")
Our strength at MTW is our diversity, and we work on fostering a culture of inclusion and equality by embracing and celebrating our differences!

- What makes each of us unique?
- What makes us the same?
- Where do I and my family come from?
* Families: we welcome each of you along with your children to create a "my culture, my heritage" inspiration board, where our students can cut and paste images of the unique foods, music, sports, languages and traditions shared by their families and "native" culture.
You can upload your inspirations to the Diversity Committee Padlet at https://padlet.com/lphilogene/1flzch6ctvdwidjo
We will share these boards with each other and our children can connect and engage in conversations about each other’s cultures.
